Ian Carmichael 1920-2010

As the year draws to a close we generally hear about the celebrities that passed on to their heavenly reward, but, here in the States, the media tends to only focuses on its own fellow countrymen and women.  I believe this to be a shame.  Ian Carmichael left the world in February of 2010 and should not be passed over as forgotten.  I'm sure he is mentioned amongst the deceased in the U.K., but the fans in the U.S. also felt a loss.  The multitude of Lord Peter fans in the U.S., myself included, might like to see him in the roll call of sorely missed stars of the large and small screen.

As you might already know, the Lord Peter Wimsey DVD collections have been out at the usual big name book sellers and I urge you to pick one up, or drop buy your local library and have them order a copy for you.  You will be delighted by the acting, story, and ,most of all, the brilliance and style of Ian Carmichael playing the splendidly stylish and dashing Lord Peter.

If you have the time, stop by TCM at 10pm on January 6 for Peter Sellers and Ian Carmichael in Heavens Above!.

For all of the fans of Ian Carmichael in the U.S. and around the world, this is can be counted as a small and heartfelt remembrance.

Here are the DVDs currently of the shelf at your local book seller.
And for your viewing pleasure...
